The tragic death of unarmed African-American man George Floyd, under a policeman's knee while a few other officers watched, in the United States sparked nationwide protests against the treatment of people of colour in the country.

The incident also shoved his daughter into the limelight.

Six-year-old Gianna Floyd not only lost her father, but she also had to deal with the media and people who've been showing interest in her life for various reasons.

But it's not all bad.

Kanye West
Streisand is not the only person to have provided assistance to Gianna and her family.

A GoFundMe page has already collected USD 2.1 million (about RM8.98 million) for her, and Texas Southern University had offered her a full scholarship if she chooses to study there.

Rapper Kanye West has also set up a savings plan for Gianna to fully cover her college fees.

West also donated USD2 million (about RM8.55 million) to help the families of Floyd, as well as two other African-Americans who were killed by the police.
