I had told him I was a fan and that my French mother in law loved both his books including The Gift of Rain (must re read both!). I am such a proud Malaysian because this movie is absolutely amazing!!! It's a beautiful moving story set in Malaya WW2, the actors are incredible, the scenery is stunning and I am just amazed and so proud that this is a Malaysian production brought by @astroshaw For fans of Hiroshi Abe you will not be disappointed. So so very proud of my cousin @anildaj for being part of this team to produce this book into a movie.
